Medical Billing & Coding — Certification Program
Introduction
Our Medical Billing & Coding Program helps prepare individuals to pursue a careers as medical billing and coding specialists. Participants will learn the skills to become members of the healthcare and insurance fields. The program emphasizes coding skills and procedures for billing and examination purposes. The curriculum prepares students to sit and pass the National Healthcareers Association (NHA) certification Exam.

Program Objectives
Upon completion of this course participants will:
- Understand how the healthcare & insurance industry work
- Use the alphabetic index and tabular list of the ICD-10-CM, and practice coding examples within the CPT
- Be able to correctly code medical services, procedures, diagnoses, and treatment
- Understand and use of the ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS manuals to identify correct codes
- Be able to processes basic claims for medical insurance and third-party reimbursements
- Be able to prepare and send invoices
- Be prepared to sit and pass the NHA certification exam for medical billing and coding
